At Narconon Arrowhead drug
treatment does not include further drugs or medications in an attempt to handle already existing drug
abuse and
addiction problems. Narconon Arrowhead is a drug free, long-term, non-traditional, residential
treatment facility.
Narconon Arrowhead believes in fully handling the factors of cravings, quilt, and depression.
These three factors have been proven over and over again to be the main stumbling blocks in not only ceasing drug
addiction but also in achieving a drug free lifetime that lasts for a lifetime.
Substituting one substance for another is not a workable answer or a substitute for actually confronting and handling the underlying mental, emotional, and physical reasons that led up to and then continued the addiction.
Drug Rehab Information By State
Three of the
drug effects in any type of
addiction that must be fully resolved for any chance of lasting recovery are cravings, guilt, and depression.
Cravings can be mental or physical and are strong, uncontrollable urges to use drugs or alcohol despite the consequences.
Depression is the source of constant and significant amounts of discomfort that prompts continued
drug use in an attempt to alleviate the depression. Guilt is the feelings resulting from dishonest deeds and harm caused to the people closest to and most important to the addict. With unresolved feelings of guilt the addict is very prone and quite likely to continue using drugs or relapse to
drug use in a misguided attempt to escape the feeling of guilt.
In what seems an endless cycles this goes on and on with the
addiction and the cravings, guilt, and depression going in a downward spiral towards death or jail.
An inpatient
rehab is a drug
rehab facility where the clients actually reside at the facility for the duration of their
treatment programs.
This could be for a few days for a withdrawal program, a few days for the shorter programs or 28 day 12 step types of drug rehab.
It all depends on the extent and types of services being provided by that particular inpatient rehab.
Narconon Arrowhead is an inpatient rehab.
Further we are classified as a non-traditional and long term inpatient rehab. Long term can be a bit confusing. At Narconon Arrowhead we operate off of results obtained and not time spent. We are interested in
rehabilitation for the individual that last a lifetime. An average of time spent on our program would be 90-120 days. Some take less and some take more, but the ruling viewpoint is as long as it takes to get results for that particular addict or alcoholic.
Addiction intervention refers to an action undertaken in order to change what is happening or might happen concerning another’s addiction, especially in order to prevent something undesirable.
Many addicts are so oblivious to the effects they are creating on themselves, their health, their loved ones and co-workers that it takes serious intervention in order to get through to them the need that they get help NOW.
In most cases it is not that they don’t care, though it may appear this way, but they are simply not aware of what is happening to them and around them. At Narconon Arrowhead we have intake counselors who can guide you on the type of intervention needed at any given point in the process of getting a loved one into rehab.

As an opiate, regular use of methadone causes physical dependency - if you've been using it regularly (prescribed or not) once you stop you will experience a withdrawal. The physical changes due to the drug are similar to other opiates (like heroin). If you are a woman using methadone you may not have regular periods - but you are still able to conceive. Methadone is a long-acting opioid; it has an effect for up to 36 hours (if you are using methadone you will not withdraw for this period) A Personal story of methadone withdrawal:
